My memories of learning to cook are many but foremost in my mind is the summer I joined 4H and learned to bake. Now I cant imagine how our leader, a caring woman in the neighborhood, put up with 10 giggling, wiggly 9-year-old girls for an entire summer. We really did learn to bake: cookies, cakes, pies and yeast breads. I think we did all of this flour-mess learning at her dining room table! I remember we took attendance and collected dues each week and then we baked and finally we had refreshments and I really looked forward to those weekly meetings. I wonder if our leader enjoyed it as much as I did
Sincerely,
