There’s nothing as sweet as quality time with the ones you love.

The not-so-secret ingredient in cherished recipes passed down through generations.

Our Heritage

Since 1843, Imperial Sugar has been at the heart of family traditions and celebrations across Texas.

At the Heart of Family Traditions

From the beginning, Imperial Sugar has been more than just a product—it’s been the secret ingredient in family-favorite recipes handed down through generations. When you bake with love and Imperial Sugar, that’s when memories are made, creating a lasting legacy in homes across the region.

A Trusted Brand for Generations

Imperial Sugar has been a staple in family kitchens across Texas and the Southeast for generations. Known for its consistent baking performance and the highest quality, Imperial Sugar is the brand that makes Grandma’s recipes just right, preserving family traditions and celebrations.

Humble Beginnings Rooted in Quality

In 1843, along the banks of Oyster Creek in what would later become Sugar Land, Texas, the Williams brothers built a sugar mill, marking the birth of a Texas legacy. This foundation set the stage for what would become Imperial Sugar, a brand deeply rooted in tradition and quality.

The Kempner Family and the Growth of Imperial Sugar

In 1905, under the leadership of Isaac H. Kempner and in partnership with William T. Eldridge, the Kempner family purchased the Imperial Mill and incorporated the Imperial Sugar Company. Over a century later, in 2022, Imperial Sugar became a wholly owned subsidiary of United States Sugar Corporation, continuing its legacy as a trusted name in sugar.
